Day 1: CORINTH CANAL-EPIDAURUS-MYCENAE-NAFPLIO
Picking you up from your hotel in Athens or the Athens Airport, we drive to the Corinth Canal, an engineering masterpiece of the 19th century, where we will have a short stop for pictures or coffee. Continuing to Epidaurus, you will see the famous ancient theater with its outstanding acoustics and feel the vibes of the ancient civilization.
We proceed to Mycenae where you will visit the kingdom of the mythical king Agamemnon, the Lion’s Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon, the vaulted grave of king Atreas and the magnificent museum with its archaeological treasures.
We will continue our trip to Nafplio, a picturesque sea side town that will captivate you with its beauty. You can visit the Venetian castle with its 999 steps and enjoy the magical panoramic view of the town. Then, we will head to Tripoli, a small charming town in the center of Peloponnese where you will relax and overnight.
Day 2: ANCIENT OLYMPIA-GALAXIDI
Today we will head to Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. You will visit the Temple of Zeus, the Stadium, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Temple of Hera and the archaeological museum with its brilliant exhibits such as Hermes of Praxiteles, the Nike of Paionios and the pediments of Zeus.
After your sightseeing we will head to Galaxidi, one of the most scenic destinations of the Greek hinterland where you can enjoy traditional receipts and overnight there.
Day 3: DELPHI-ARACHOVA-KALAMBAKA
After a good breakfast we will visit the archaeological site and the museum of Delphi that displays artifacts from the surrounded archaeological treasures. Delphi had the most famous oracle of ancient Greece and was regarded as the center of the world and the place where heaven and earth met. Nowadays, it is a monument of Global heritage of Unesco.
After your visit to Delphi, we will continue our trip to Arachova, a famous winter resort and ideal for a summer excursion with its mountainous landscapes and scenic architecture, where we will have a stop for coffee or lunch.
We will continue our trip to Kalambaka, the gateway to the impressive phenomenon of Meteora. Kalambaka is a small town that harmoniously combines its traditional character with the new days living. Here you will relax and overnight.
Day 4: METEORA MONASTERIES- THERMOPILES- ATHENS
Today we will visit the unique phenomenon of Meteora, a preserved and protected monument of humanity by UNESCO. The gigantic rocks, “the tectonic horns” as described by geologist, where created 30 million years ago with maximum height of 400 m. (1200 ft). The mystical and isolated atmosphere led the Christian monks to build the monasteries here about 1000 years ago but only 6 of them have remained through the centuries. You will visit two of these outstanding monasteries and the spirituality that exudes along with the historical treasures that are hidden, will offer you a lifetime experience.
We will take our way back to Athens, passing by beautiful seaside towns and having a stop to the renowned Thermopiles, where the legendary king Leonidas and the fearless 300 Spartans faced the numerous Persian armies. We reach to Athens in the afternoon, where are beautiful tour ends.
